19. First responder (who was once a seminarian) baptizes dying baby and she revives

On October 24, In Ciudad del Este, a city in Paraguay, first responders received a phone call about a one-month-old baby in distress. The ambulance that arrived to help was manned by a team of three volunteer firemen (in addition to the driver), including Jorge Corvalan, who, coincidentally, had been a seminarian.

18. Priest was saved from a bullet by wearing his Brown Scapular

At t times God will miraculously save a person from death, and this can happen in any number of ways. He does so when it is within his will and often to highlight the faith of an individual. One such story can be found in the booklet Garment of Grace, which narrates how a priest was saved by God through the wearing of his Brown Scapular

16. Miracle attributed to Carlo Acutis given the OK from doctors

The Medical Council of the Congregation for Saints’ Causes has expressed a positive opinion on an alleged miracle attributed to the intercession of young Carlo Acutis, who died of leukemia at age 15 in 2006. He was declared venerable in 2018. The miracle regards the healing of a gravely ill boy in Brazil.

15. Israeli Archaeologists May Have Found Emmaus, Where Jesus Appeared After Crucifixion

Archaeologists have uncovered the massive walls of a 2,200-year-old Hellenistic fortification that may have been built by the Seleucid general who defeated Judah the Maccabee, the famed Jewish leader at the center of the Hanukkah story. In an unexpected twist, the discovery could also help identify the location of the biblical town of Emmaus, where the Gospels say Jesus made his first appearance after being crucified and resurrected.

14. Healed aneurysm investigated as possible miracle for Creole nun's beatification

In December 2017, 19 year-old Arkansas college student Christine McGee was rushed to the hospital. Christine had fallen ill with what turned out to be an aneurysm, and it looked like she was going to die. Once at the hospital, Christine fell into a coma and became unresponsive. Today, Christine is healed. She recently received her Master’s degree from Loyola University in New Orleans, and she can drive and live independently.

13. Miracle approved for Italian blessed Sandra Sabbattini

On October 2, 2019, Pope Francis approved a miracle through the intercession of Sandra, paving the way for her future beatification. One more miracle is required before she can be declared a saint.

9. Newly unearthed mosaic could hold clues to location of Jesus’ miracle of the loaves and fishes

At the site of a burned early Christian church with a view of the Sea of Galilee, archaeologists have uncovered a 1,600-year-old floor mosaic that could change what we know of the location where Jesus fed the 5,000, as documented in the Gospels. Although excavation of the ancient artwork is still underway, experts have identified figures in the piece that are congruent with the Gospels, including fish, loaves of bread, and baskets filled with both of these.

11. Holy Trinity worshipers flock to mysterious crying Virgin Mary icon, hope miracle saves church from sale

Some worshippers see a sign from God after a caretaker at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church on Chicago's Northwest Side saw what looked like tears pouring from the Virgin Mary's eyes. The caretaker noticed the shocking sight early Sunday morning, as she prepared for what could be one of the church's final services. The church faces foreclosure and is due to go to bankruptcy court Tuesday morning. The community was in shock at the weeping icon.

10. Pope Francis adds feast of Our Lady of Loreto to Roman Calendar

Pope Francis has decreed that the feast of Our Lady of Loreto be included in the Roman Calendar as an optional memorial to be celebrated on December 10. “This celebration will help all people, especially families, youth and religious to imitate the virtues of that perfect disciple of the Gospel, the Virgin Mother, who, in conceiving the Head of the Church also accepted us as her own,” Cardinal Robert Sarah, prefect of the Congregation for Divine Worship, stated in the decree published Oct. 31.

9. New Orleans baby healed after doctors gave him hours to live

Life seemed to be turning around. The pregnancy was wonderfully unremarkable -- no problems, no surprises until, of course, Michelle went into labor unexpectedly Mardi Gras morning. Brandon remembers calling their friends, "Everyone was like OMG, you? You're going to have it today?!" But that excitement quickly gave way to concern when after hours of pushing, the baby barely moved. More staff came into the delivery room. The couple was told the baby was too high and Michelle's hips were too narrow. Instead of a C-section, they said the doctor performed a vacuum-assisted delivery.

8. Windsor church witnessing 'miracle' oil from painting of Virgin Mary

Parishioners at a Windsor church are witnessing an unusual occurrence in their church — and they're calling it miraculous. Members of a youth group and the priest at St. Simeon Church witnessed "streams of liquid" coming from an image of Virgin Mary and her child that the church considers an icon. "They wiped it off," said spokesperson Lina Khoury. "They didn't really think anything of it." The church said it happened again later the same day when a different parishioner was praying.

6. Vatican representatives joined the first officially approved church festival at Medjugorje

Senior Vatican representatives joined the first officially approved church festival at Medjugorje, three months after Catholic pilgrimages to the site in Bosnia-Herzegovina were authorized by the pope. “We are called to share the difficulties of our contemporaries and we have a responsibility to care for them,” Archbishop Rino Fisichella, president of the Pontifical Council for New Evangelization, told 60,000 young people from 97 countries Aug. 5.

5. New Eucharistic miracle in Paraguay?

New alleged Eucharistic miracle in Aregua, Paraguay. Father Gustavo Palacios reportedly brought a consecrated host contained in a pyx to a sick person and transformed into flesh and blood inside (video in Spanish)

4. Catholic Diocese of Fort Worth confirms that Our Lady of Argyle apparitions are fabricated

In an August 26, 2019 pastoral letter to all Priests, Deacons, Seminarians, Religious Women and Men and the Lay Faithful of the Catholic Diocese of Fort Worth, Bishop Michael F. Olson confirmed video evidence reveals that apparitions of a purported female mystic who claims to receive messages from the Blessed Virgin Mary under a title of “Mystical Rose-Our Lady of Argyle” are fabricated and false.

3. First miracle investigated and approved at Our Lady of Knock Shrine

On Sept. 3, 1989, Marion Carroll went to the Shrine of Our Lady Knock in a stretcher. Later that day, she walked home. Formally announced on Sept. 1, Carroll’s sudden, complete, and inexplicable cure from multiple sclerosis is the first miracle approved by the Catholic Church at Ireland’s national Marian shrine.

2. Miracle healing of pregnant mother leads to canonization of St. John Henry Newman

A few prayers to Blessed John Henry Newman became a “constant dialogue” and then a desperate response to an emergency for Melissa Villalobos of Chicago. Her healing, which saved her life and the life of her unborn child, was accepted as the miracle needed for the 19th-century British cardinal’s canonization.

1. Vatican approves Fulton Sheen's miraculous cure of boy dead for 61 minutes

At birth, James was stillborn and without a pulse for 61 minutes. Just as the doctors were prepared to call his time of death, his heart miraculously started beating and in the following months he made a full and inexplicable recovery. This miracle was formally attributed to Venerable Fulton Sheen this year.
